Springtime in the Meadow

By:Jessica

It was springtime in the meadow. Wildflowers opened their arms and reached for the sky.  The sunflowers turned their faces up to the sun and drank in the morning air.

The daisies danced in the tall grass as the wind whistled softly. The honey bees hummed a sweet song as they hopped from blossom to blossom. All seemed peaceful in the meadow.

Suddenly, the bees stopped humming and the flowers stopped dancing. A new sound was carried on the breeze. The ground began to shake and the flowers shivered with fear. The sound became louder and louder, snarling, gurgling and howling.

A horrible beast was attacking the meadow throwing their flower friends into the air. All seemed lost until the beast ran into the tall grass.

The thick meadow grass choked the beast until it sputtered and smoke poured from its mouth. The beast was stopped. The tall grass sacrificed itself to save the meadow and all who lived there.
