The weather is warming up and soon we’ll be able to open windows, tidy up our gardens, and enjoy the warmth and sunshine that winter has smothered under a blanket of cold and snow for so many months now. It’s also that time when we begin thinking about how we can bring that springtime feeling of newness and fresh beginnings into our homes. One of the best ways to spread the warmth of spring throughout the house is by updating your interior décor with flowers for the season.
Although fresh flowers are a natural choice, their care and short lives make the cost outlay somewhat prohibitive. Yes they are beautiful, but any money spent is invested in a temporary addition that will have to be replaced in a very short period of time. With silk flowers, however, the benefit of your spending receives a great boost, because it will be years before a good silk flower arrangement needs replacing, and they can be transitioned with other arrangements according to the season.
With that in mind, May will soon be upon us, and the first thing we think of is May flowers. Daffodils, rhododendron, tulips, lilies and many more are synonymous with spring, and what better way to proclaim you participation in all of this wonderful growth, than with a large arrangement of beautiful lilies?
Although of african descent, gladiolas are a favorite in southern states, and blooms are often fully open by April. Carefully arranged, they are great for accenting a wide variety of primary blooms. Why not gladiolas with peony? We think they work quite well together, and certainly have a place in spring's warm and sunny days.
If your home is full of the rich browns and deep tones associated with wood and natural structures, you don’t have to settle for a jarring clash of colors from the usual spring silk flower choices. Silk peony’s come in a wide variety of colors, and offer a subdued alternative that will work well with just about interior décor that relies on natural tones for it’s character.
Of course, roses cannot be ignored. Their vibrant colors and lush petals simply demand attention, and in the spring, they get it. Whether a simple arrangement of two or three blooms in a slender vase, or a lush grouping flowing from a wide container, our very realistic silk roses are always a wonderful choice from spring until fall.
While the tendency for most people is to gravitate towards the lushest, most colorful blooms they can find, it’s worthwhile to sometimes remember that the simple things are sometimes the best. Our daisies are so realistic and so full of character they simply can’t help but be an obvious choice for spring decorating. No need for fancy placement or special considerations, daisies are the always right silk flower.
